Armistice Day Wednesday 11th November 2020 – Act of Remembrance
James Eric Appleyard lived at Cringlebar, Stanningley and had many Bradford based sporting connections.
He also attended Bradford Grammar School and is remembered on their Memorial.
He died a few months before the end of World War One on 20th July 1918, whilst serving as a Captain in the 8th Battalion West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s Own) and is buried in France.
He was the son of James and Frances Annie Appleyard.
We assisted Bradford Grammar School with their research and are proud to post the history of this brave young man.
